Our Camp

Royal Family KIDS Anchorage camp is part of a nationwide network of camps for abused and abandoned children in the foster care system (Royal Family KIDS, Inc.) There are more than 250 camps in 40 states and 5 countries impacting more than 10,000 children who are part of the foster care system. For one week these children experience an outdoor camp that creates positive memories as the volunteer staff provides the children with the perspective that there are adults who care for them, who love them, and who can relate to them. It is their “Oasis” for one week.

Royal Family KIDS Anchorage camp is meticulously organized, volunteer-run program with over 10,000 volunteer hours donated each year. The campers, ages 6-11 years, are treated like royalty. They play hard as they swim, canoe, and fish for the elusive trout surrounded by adults full of encouragement and praise. They enjoy the Activity Center which is filled with free choice activities like dress up, woodworking, take apart center, basketball, and much more. Campers experience chapel where they sing, watch skits, and learn the memory verse of the week. There is a chilly Polar Bear jump, dress up dinner party, talent show, and “Everybody’s Birthday Party.” At the birthday party we celebrate everybody’s birthday with a cake decorated like the child’s face, birthday games, and a backpack full of gifts. For some this is truly their first birthday. They receive a Playaway with all the music for the week plus the drama and puppet show so they can listen at home. At the end of the week before loading the charter coaches to return home, each child receives a photo album filled with pictures of them and what they did throughout the week. This is a treasure that most will hold onto dearly.

We hope you will consider being part of the vision of Royal Family KIDS Anchorage camp. One week CAN make a difference! We are helping to change the trajectory of children’s lives and making a posititve impact right here in Alaska. How fabulous to be able to bring Hope, Healing, and Wholeness in our own community. Serving God’s broken, abandoned, and neglected is as rewarding to you as it is to them.

How can you be part of the Sharing Love, Giving Hope team?

  • Volunteer
  • Give Financially
  • Be a Prayer Warrior
